The plans for the Alpha test for the upcoming shooter Hyenas from Creative Assembly confirm that invited players can begin playing before the end of January.
The dates for Creative Assembly’s upcoming PC alpha tests for the sci-fi shooter Hyenas have been announced, beginning with an event before the end of January. As Creative Assembly gathers data and feedback for its sci-fi multiplayer game, multiple alpha tests are planned for Hyenas over the next few months. This is also Creative Assembly’s chance to get people excited about Hyenas, a new IP that needs to get people talking about it.
The creators of Alien: Covenant first teased Hyenas as a sci-fi multiplayer first-person shooter in June 2022. Isolation and the series Total War. Simply put, Creative Assembly’s decision to focus on multiplayer first-person shooters caught some people off guard right away.
Even more, people were perplexed by the Hyenas announcement trailer’s gameplay, which appeared to be heavily influenced by Apex Legends and Overwatch while text descriptions suggested a more Escape From Tarkov-like experience. Numerous questions will need to be answered on the alpha tests.
Creative Assembly unveiled what it refers to as Hyenas’ PC Alpha Timeline rather than a single alpha test. There will be four distinct invite-only alpha test weekends throughout the timeline. Weekend 1, the first test, is scheduled for this upcoming weekend.
Those fortunate enough to be invited will be able to experience Hyenas for the first time between January 20 and January 23. It’s not clear whether the NDA will apply to the alpha tests.
Beginning in April, the hyena alpha tests on Weekends 2 through 4 will be conducted monthly. Weekend 2 lasts from Febry 17 to February 20, Weekend 3 lasts from March 10 to March 13, and Weekend 4 lastsuar from March 31 to April 3. Creative Assembly is likely to host additional tests in the future, including a beta and possibly an open beta. However, for the time being, only these closed alpha tests have been confirmed for Hyenas.
Creative Assembly also revealed the Manhattan Hyenas map as part of the PC Alpha Timeline reveals. Manhattan is home to iconic landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, the Greek coffee cup with the inscription “We Are Happy to Serve You,” sections of the Brooklyn Bridge, and more that were transported into a space station as if they were part of a museum on Earth.
When Creative Assembly stated that Hyenas players will steal from the wealthy, this Manhattan-themed space station should help convey just how rich they are.
On the game’s official website, you can sign up for the alpha test if you want to see what Hyenas is all about, whether it’s more Apex Legends or Escape From Tarkov. Although there is no guarantee that everyone will be invited, there is no harm in signing up. In the coming weeks and months, you can anticipate hearing a lot more about hyenas.
