The Two-Faced Emperor – Akashi Seijuro (Kuroko’s Basket), Know The Twist

Kuroko’s Basketball raises a question that pervades the whole anime series: Is expecting to win everything? Winning is not only an expectation for Seijr Akashi, the former leader of the Teik Jr.

High school basketball team and also the commander of the Generation of Miracles. Akashi is the poster child for perfection, excelling in scholars, sports, music, and other areas. However, this same third season reveals that this perfect Akashi might not be the truthful Akashi at all.

From season 1 to season 3 of Kuroko’s Basketball, Akashi has been positioned as the series’ final boss character. He is Kuroko’s natural adversary on the court, combining superiority and/or a god-like complicated with an overly powerful ability such as the Emperor Eye.

When Akashi is confronted by the reality of having lost to Seirin High in Season 3: Episode 23, the audience is eventually able to discover the true Akashi kept secret behind scenes: his original character.

What is Split Personality Disorder (DID)?

Akashi struggles with some other Akashi who lives inside him, as alluded to throughout the series. What appears to be an allegory used by Generation of Miracles members to explain Akashi’s absolute power and dominance just on the court turns out to be something entirely different: Split Personality Disorder is a real-world psychological disorder.

This disorder has several key symptoms, according to MedicalNewsToday. For starters, the original personality is more silent than the alternative one.

Second, when the alternative personality takes over, he will have his own set of behaviors, memories, and vocabulary. Third, this same initial switch from the original to an alternate personality contains a trigger that causes the two personalities to alternate back and forth.

Akashi displays all of these signs. For the initial point, Akashi’s original character, as seen in season three flashbacks, was pleasurable, kind, and compassionate toward his teammates. During these times, he is frequently shown to be a cooperative leader of the team who helps guide with patience.

Whenever the alternate character Akashi takes command, he will become aggressive, authoritarian, as well as ruthless toward both allies and enemies. And, for the third point, the fear of failing acts as a switch.

Can Akashi’s DID Be Cured?
