According to the World Bank, agriculture will continue to play a crucial role in Southeast Asian economies, contributing 11% of the region’s GDP in 2020. However, the region’s agricultural production has been severely hampered by the region’s severe land shortage, sourcing disruptions, and COVID-19-related farm labour shortage.
Therefore, Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia (AFTEA), a Constellar event with international partner DLG (the German Agricultural Society), launches on October 26 as a key partnering event of Singapore International Agri-Food Week and is located at Sands Expo and Convention Centre Halls A and B.

As AFTEA plays a crucial role in catalysing and promoting these exchanges, we look forward to joining the region’s agri-food tech community, stated Mr. Jean-François Quentin, Group Chief Executive Officer, Constellar.
The first edition of AFTEA focuses on information exchange and technological answers to farming and food supply issues in order to enhance the calibre, efficacy, and volume of agricultural processes, boost crop production, and boost independence. More than 200 exhibitors from more than 15 nations, including Canada, France, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, and the United Kingdom, can be expected by attendees.
Through tailored interaction tools, participants will be able to communicate with industry leaders, specialists, and other stakeholders directly, giving them the information they need to explore solutions and collaborate more effectively. A carefully curated Sandbox, the Living Lab, as well as Constellar’s renowned business matching and sponsored buyer programme are among these platforms.
Innovate 360, Singapore’s first facility-based venture capital food accelerator, will sign Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Space F, ProXes, and Futura Ingredients, respectively, to make it easier for start-ups and established businesses to work together on OEM manufacturing, food technology, and other R&D projects.
Delegates will also get the chance to interact with experts in the field during sessions on urban agriculture, localising alternative proteins, developing inclusive, sustainable, and resilient agri-food tech ecosystems, digitized labelling for food monitoring and tracking and aquaculture innovation.
Amarenco Group, BluEat, Entreprise SG, Jah Cultura, Olam Agri, and Temasek Polytechnic, among others, will share case studies on their solutions’ and technologies’ deployment efforts and initiatives in the relevant fields and nations. So will other country representatives, exhibitors, and organisations.
In order to address important issues regarding balancing the need for food security via urban agriculture and to discuss difficulties such as high farming costs and energy consumption, AFTEA would also co-host the Sustainable Urban Agriculture Forum, arranged by Republic Polytechnic (RP) in collaboration with IPI Singapore and Trendlines Agrifood Innovation Centre.
These Singapore Norms, which were organised and created by the Singapore Manufacturing Federation and are compliant with ASEAN and worldwide standards, allow local farms to follow best practises for quality management while preserving the farm environment.
Building a vibrant Agri-Food hub in Asia, AFTEA brings together local and international agri- and food businesses, urban and smart food manufacturers and vendors, producers, growers, solutions providers, start-ups, investors, and business leaders from around the world to initiate influential networks, discover prospects, facilitate cooperation, innovate, and develop solutions.
