One gamer discovered that Kiriko, Over watch 2’s newest support, has a fox spirit that changes in design depending on the skin used.
Kiriko is the most recent support hero to be added to the Overwatch 2 roster. Some fans have discovered that one of Kiriko’s legendary skins is designed differently for her fox spirit. With the release of Overwatch 2, Blizzard has switched its team-based hero shooter to a free-to-play model. The developer has launched a battle pass that includes cosmetics, including a legendary Kiriko skin, as a result of this decision.
The new character skins are the main selling point of the Overwatch 2 Season 1 Battle Pass, which includes a variety of cosmetics like emotes, highlight intros, charms, and sprays. While Genji’s legendary skin at the battle pass’s conclusion is striking, Kiriko’s new Hinotori skin at level 20 should not be overlooked. The battle pass skin not only alters Kiriko’s appearance, but it also alters the appearance of her fox spirit.
On Reddit, frhg12 discovered this particular feature and posted a collage of images contrasting the two Overwatch 2 designs. The image showed Kiriko’s and her fox spirit’s default skins at the top and Hinotori skins at the bottom. The Reddit user used screenshots from Kitsune Rush, the highlight intro, and Companion, the victory pose, to get a good look at the fox spirit. These photographs revealed that the legendary skin made the fox’s legs and back darker. It also had black-tipped ears and what appeared to be a metal-like plate on its head.
A number of gamers have found the various fox spirit designs intriguing since the image was shared on Reddit. While frhg12 appreciated the change, they expressed a wish that the designers would have given the legendary design a different color to match the Battle Pass skin’s color. In addition, another gamer made the observation that similar to how Bob gets a new look with Ash’s skins, Blizzard should give the fox spirit appearances that match each of Kiriko’s skins in Overwatch 2.
Even though Overwatch 2’s launch has been fraught with difficulties for Blizzard, the unique models for Kiriko’s fox spirit show that the designers have paid attention to the smallest of details. Other fans have discovered additional aspects of the game in addition to these distinct designs. One gamer recently discovered, for instance, that the Push maps’ enormous robot could converse with them. It will be interesting to see what other Easter eggs players discover as they continue to play Overwatch 2.
