During a recent Overwatch 2 match, one Moira player prioritises damage over healing, totally disregarding a weak Bastion player. In Overwatch 2, players can choose between three roles: support, DPS, and tank. Whereas the duties of each category may overlap at times, each has a distinct role to play on the battlefield.
A support hero’s primary role in Overwatch 2 is really to heal and assist their teammates, as the name implies. This role currently has eight characters, including the new hero Kiriko and the seven returning healers from of the original Overwatch. While these heroes can deal damage as well as heal, the key to playing them well is striking this same right between the two, that not all players have mastered.
In a Reddit post, a user known as StarStruckYeet revealed in an Overwatch 2 clip that certain Moira players have yet to work on their balance among healing and damage. The Reddit user in the video played Bastion as they tried to attack the enemy team close the robot just on Push Map Esperanca. They backed away from the point after taking significant damage, hoping to find somebody to heal them.

Even though they retreated from the battle, StarStruckYeet noticed an allied Moira returning to the spawn point. Moira had other plans for the Reddit user, who thought they were about to receive the healing people needed to get back into the action. Instead of restoring the Bastion player’s health, the support walked right past him as if he didn’t exist. To make matters worse, Moira initiated a damage orb towards to the fight when a healing orb could have been sent in the path of StarStruckYeet.
This appears to be StarStruckYeet’s second encounter with this type of situation, as they stated “average moira player” when going to post the clip to Reddit. Furthermore, this appears to have happened to a slew of other players, even as post has already received over 5.1K upvotes. “Dudes got that 5 FOV,” one gamer remarked of the oblivious healer.
It’s important to note that ignoring teammates isn’t something that only support players are known to do.
Over the years, Reddit has seen numerous examples of DPS and tank players abandoning their teammates only to rush in and die as a result of the opposing team. Furthermore, not all Moira fans are unaware, as many skilled gamers had also mastered the character and have effectively used her abilities to heal and damage.
While it is difficult to predict what will occur next in Overwatch 2, each thing is certain: clips of both bad and good players will most likely end up on Reddit in the days ahead.
Overwatch 2 is now available in Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, PS5, PS4 PC, PS4.
