On the Set of Rust, Alec Baldwin Found That His Gun Was “Chilly.”

Alec Baldwin was informed that he had been given a “cold pistol” before the incident that led to Halyna Hutchins’ death.

Baldwin has reaffirmed his denial that he fired the revolver that accidently murdered cameraman Hutchins in October 2021 while they were filming “Rust” on site.

Baldwin responded when asked how a gun could discharge without the trigger being pulled: “You know what it means to fan a gun, right? Have you ever heard the expression “fanning the gun”? Therefore, if you pull back the hammer without locking it; if you pull back the hammer quite far – in old Western movies, you would see someone fan the hammer of the gun – the hammer did not lock; you pulled it back to the point where it would fire the bullet without you pulling the trigger or locking the hammer.”

Baldwin stated that when the rifle was provided to him, the safety director informed him that “the gun was safe.” The Hollywood celebrity said on the podcast “The Chris Cuomo Project”: “When he delivered the gun to me, the man who serves as the primary safety officer on the movie set declared that it was secure.

“This is a cold pistol, said the person who served as the movie’s primary safety officer in front of the entire crowd. Now, if he didn’t know and hadn’t checked, why would he say that? “The key aspect is that we were all assured that everything was fine, that you could unwind, and that the rifle we were using was safe for practise. He convincingly described to me what might occur if the hammer is pulled back and then released while there is a live round in the chamber.”

Meanwhile, a recent FBI inquiry found that the gun’s trigger was pushed. The detectives put the gun through its paces to see if they could fire it without pulling the trigger, but they maintained that it was impossible. When questioned how a gun could fire without the trigger being pulled, Baldwin replied: “Do you know what it means to fan a gun?

Have you heard the phrase “fanning the gun”? As a result, if you pull back the hammer without locking it; if you pull back the hammer quite far – in old Western movies, someone would fan the hammer of the gun – the hammer did not lock; you pulled it back to the point where it would fire the bullet without you pulling the trigger or locking the hammer.”

Baldwin claimed that the safety director told him “the gun was safe” before giving him the rifle. The famous Hollywood figure stated in the podcast “The Chris Cuomo Project: “The man who is the principal safety officer on the film set said that it was secure when he handed the gun to me.

“The movie’s main safety officer announced in front of everyone present, “This is a cold gun.” Given that, why, if he didn’t know and hadn’t checked, did he say it?
