Rent-a-Girlfriend returned in grand style for season 2, and fans were thrilled to learn what Kazuma’s future contained. Sumi Sakurasawa and Kazuya’s ex-girlfriend Mami Sagashina are two more important characters who didn’t get much screen time in the previous season but played vital roles in the series.

Review of Rent-a-Girlfriend, Season 2 Episode 1
Kazuya was thrilled for Chizuru when she decided to leave her job as a rental girlfriend to pursue a career in acting. However, he was also a little unhappy because the former will become busy and spend less time with the latter. After what transpired between Chizuru and Mami, Kazuya has a strong attraction to her, which is why he won’t rent to anybody else.
It had been weeks since Kazuya last met Chizuru, who was aware of the stage performance. He wasted little time in making a hasty trip to the theatre to see Chizuru play. When he saw Chizuru’s poster, he was overjoyed and couldn’t help but become enthusiastic like he always does.
Although Kazuya was aware of Chizuru’s propensity for pretend play, the former was taken aback by the latter’s acting abilities. Kazuya was lost in his thoughts as he saw Chizuru’s hilarious side hidden deep behind her short-tempered demeanor. Kazuya was seated behind Sumi, who didn’t bother him.
Chizuru received numerous compliments for her outstanding performance after the play, but she was disappointed that the director she wanted to impress didn’t acknowledge her. She went outside the theatre to get some fresh air when she unexpectedly ran across Kazuya. When Chizuru learned that Kazuya had come to witness her show, she was both shocked and indignant.
Chizuru wasn’t happy with her acting profession, but she didn’t want to tell Kazuya too much about it. Kazuya yells at Chizuru as she looks on dejectedly, telling her she shouldn’t abandon her job and that she must fulfil her ambitions.
Kazuya promised Chizuru that he would continue to rent her week after week until she got what she wanted because she would need more money to support her profession. Even though Chizuru believed Kazuya was lying, she wasn’t, and when she returned home, she was in complete disbelief.
