At Imran’s funeral, Toyah gives a moving eulogy. Adam and Alya both seem skeptical when Toyah claims she wishes Imran had survived the vehicle accident instead of her.
After the service, Peter informs Toyah that Adam has leveled a charge against her. He also claims that the cops interrogated him about her previous desire for a child and the Susie saga.
Toyah takes matters into her own hands by returning to the police station and informing DS Swain that they need to talk about something.
Toyah is still being held by the police later in the week, and Leanne begins to be concerned about her sister. Toyah makes it plain that she has no intention of killing Imran or herself, thus she will not lie about it.
Kevin is adamant about sticking behind Abi while she fights for custody of baby Alfie. Debbie advises Kevin to consider his options carefully before making such a significant commitment.
Jack overhears how he was created when Kevin had an affair with Molly behind Tyrone’s back as they continue to converse.
Abi discovers that if she wants custody of Alfie back, she’ll have to properly re-apply. She doesn’t have much time to prepare her case because the hearing is the next day.
Abi also learns that winning custody of Alfie under the supervision of a foster carer is the best choice she has. It’s evident that Abi and her plans to raise Alfie still have a long way to go.
When Abi arrives in court, the judge orders that Alfie be placed in a mother-baby foster home with her. This will enable Abi to be evaluated in order to see how she is coping with Alfie.
Wendy Crozier, the foster carer, is presented to Abi.
Brian keeps trying to persuade Cathy to agree to his plans for them to start a new life in Cornwall together. Evelyn notices Cathy’s lack of enthusiasm and informs Brian that a more romantic approach is required.
Brian takes this into consideration and recommends to Cathy that they marry. Evelyn realizes that all is not well between the couple when Cathy says yes after some contemplation.
