The Ryanverse will live on! On Amazon, John Krasinski’s rendition of Tom Clancy’s hero Jack Ryan will return for a third tour of duty after the company placed an early purchase for Season 3 in February 2019. However, there was some mystery around the news.
Before departing the programme, David Scarpa (All the Money in the World) was supposed to take over as the new showrunner for Jack Ryan. Then, starting with the still-developing third season, Paul Scheuring, best known as the creator of Fox’s Prison Break, was planned to take over for Scarpa. However, Vaun Wilmott has since taken his position (Star Trek: Discovery) All of these showrunner changes bring to a close a process that saw Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) depart.
Scheuring chose to leave the showrunner post after learning he wasn’t a good fit, according to The Hollywood Reporter (also, somewhat fascinatingly: he opted to go to grad school rather than run an Amazon streaming show.) Vaun Wimott, the most recent showrunner, also collaborated with Scheuring on the aforementioned Prison Break. Dominion on Syfy was also conceived and produced by him.
Since the show’s globe-trotting production was upended by the coronavirus outbreak, viewers have been waiting a long time for season 3. It should be arriving shortly, thankfully.
Season 3 Cast of Jack Ryan
Marianne Jean-Baptiste is the newest addition to the Jack Ryan season 3 roster (Blindspot). Jean-Baptiste will play Elizabeth Wright, a CIA Chief of Station.
Krasinski is the titular ex-Marine turned CIA analyst who follows terrorist organisations’ funds in Jack Ryan. As CIA agent James Greer, Wendell Pierce co-stars with Krasinski. In season 2, the cast included Michael Kelly (House of Cards), Noomi Rapace (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Jovan Adepo (The Leftovers), Jordi Molla (Genius), Cristina Umaa (Narcos), and Francisco Denis. Kelly, Adepo, and maybe Rapace appear to be the most likely to return for season 3.

When will the third season of Jack Ryan be released?
Season 3 of Jack Ryan does not yet have a release date, but we’ll keep you updated. The series’ previous two seasons debuted in the fall. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the series won’t start production until 2021, therefore a late 2021 or early 2022 premiere seems most plausible.
