She-Hulk Release Date leaked By Disney, Full Plot Revealed

The release date for Marvel Studios’ She-Hulk has been leaked online, and it comes from none other than Disney.

While most Marvel release dates are kept under wraps, on the official Disney Plus UK site, eagle-eyed fans detected an as-yet-unannounced release date for ‘She-Hulk.’ ‘She-Hulk,’ featuring Tatiana Maslany in the titular character, will air on August 17, 2022, according to the site. The site also includes a plot summary for the future series, which reads: “In this new comedy series, Bruce Banner assists Jennifer Walters, his cousin, when she requires an emergency blood transfusion, and guess what? She also gains his abilities. Jennifer, played by Tatiana Maslany, is a lawyer who specializes in superhuman-related legal problems. Mark Ruffalo returns as the Hulk, with Tim Roth reprising his role as the Abomination.”

While we know She-Hulk is meant to hit Disney Plus some time in 2022, we have not been given a specific date yet. Previous rumors put it in August, but a new leak from the official Disney Plus UK site has given us an exact date: August 17, 2022.

On Saturday, May 14, Murphy’s Multiverse spotted a confirmation on Disney’s UK website that the MCU TV show would premiere on August 17. The likely premiere date was stated under the Marvel on Disney Plus section of the website, with She-Hulk appearing to be due to debut this summer on Disney Plus (or winter for those of you who reside in the southern hemisphere).

If the leak is accurate, it will put to rest claims that the show has been postponed. ‘She-Hulk’ will air after the June 8th debut of Ms. Marvel, the next Disney+ Marvel film. Renée Elise Goldsberry of Girls5Eva and Jameela Jamil of The Good Place will join Maslany and company as a villain (perhaps Titania?). Krysten Ritter is supposed to be returning as super-powered private investigator Jessica Jones, but given that both he and Walters are lawyers, I’m betting for Charlie Cox as Daredevil/Matt Murdock.

Since the release date was disclosed, any mention to She-Hulk was removed from the website. However, TechRadar was able to confirm that the show’s expected premiere date and TV show overview were both published as recently as Saturday evening. Check the screenshot below to see proof of this:

She-Hulk is one of four Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series set to premiere on Disney Plus in 2022, with Moon Knight kicking things off on March 30. On June 8, Ms Marvel will be the next TV show to premiere on Disney’s streaming service. Meanwhile, Secret Invasion and She-Hulk have yet to get official release dates – or, at least, they had until Disney UK’s apparent gaffe.

“This new comedy series sees Bruce Banner help his cousin, Jennifer Walters, when she needs an emergency blood transfusion and guess what? She receives his powers too. Tatiana Maslany will play Jennifer, who is a lawyer specialising in superhuman-oriented legal cases. Mark Ruffalo is back as the Hulk alongside Tim Roth, who plays the Abomination.”

It’s unclear whether this leak serves as official confirmation of She-Disney Hulk’s Plus release – we’ll get into why that might not be the case shortly. However, this is the first time we’ve seen or heard anything major regarding the upcoming Marvel Phase 4 project. And, given that August 17 falls on a Wednesday — the day that new Marvel TV episodes debut on Disney Plus – this leak appears to be somewhat accurate.

Will She-Hulk make an appearance on Disney Plus in August?

It appears so, but there are a few elements that could call this leak into question.

Despite the fact that She-release Hulk’s date was leaked by Disney, there’s a good chance the film won’t be released in August.

For starters, Disney’s UK website’s Marvel section hasn’t been updated to reflect the arrival of Shang-Chi or Moon Knight. Both MCU films are accessible to watch on Disney Plus, although neither is featured alongside Loki, Eternals, or other Phase 4 films on that page. It’s possible that She-release Hulk’s date was inserted improperly if they were mistakenly left off the list.

Then there’s the possibility that the rumored launch date for She-Hulk is just a placeholder. Marvel Studios and Disney may have provisionally penciled in an August release, but the show’s premiere has already been pushed back. There have been speculations that She-Hulk is experiencing a number of development hurdles, including production pipeline issues related to a VFX backlog, which has supposedly resulted in a She-Hulk release date of late 2022 or even January 2023.

However, the fact that Disney has removed all references to She-Hulk from its website indicates that the August release date is accurate. Disney and Marvel usually keep Marvel movie and TV show release dates a secret until they’re ready. The fact that She-release Hulk’s date was leaked via an official Disney channel, followed by its removal from the Disney UK website, makes this a two-fold blunder that only adds gasoline to the fire over an August release date.

She-Hulk appears to be a good fit for an August release. By that time, Ms. Marvel’s Disney Plus program will have concluded, and Thor: Love and Thunder will have been in theaters for more than a month. The only other MCU project with a known release date for 2022 is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, so we’ll need a new Marvel series to keep us entertained until Black Panther 2 arrives in November.

Finally, according to Brazilian news outlet Chippu, She-Hulk will premiere in August (thanks to Reddit for the catch). We’d normally accept such supposition with a grain of salt. Chippu, on the other hand, appears to have solid relationships within Marvel Studios regarding release dates and the like. The South American website was the first to confirm that the trailer for Thor 4 would be released on April 18, which it was.

Right now, they are focused on Ms. Marvel, which has plenty of trailers and debuts June 8. It will actually be overlapping with Obi-Wan, so Disney Plus will have a high profile Marvel and Star Wars series airing at the same time. Expect more of this in the future as Disney Plus ramps up its content production. We are a long way from the year where only The Mandalorian came out.

I am extremely curious to see what Tatiana Maslany looks like in green form. I presume that like Ruffalo’s Hulk, there will be some amount of CG and motion capture involved, as Maslany is not exactly massively tall, jacked actress, even if She-Hulk is not generally quite as inhumanly huge as Bruce’s Hulk in most instances.
