I’m a big fan of Bose, and I still have a pair of the previous version QuietComfort 35 ii in my car. They’re not only comfy to wear, but they also have great sound quality and, most significantly, active noise cancellation (ANC). I’d almost forgotten how loud the London Underground was until I let the battery die and had to deal with the indignity of hearing without the ANC I’d grown accustomed to.

The audio and call quality were both clear and balanced throughout real-world testing. The noise-cancelling headphones did an excellent job of blocking out extraneous noise.
The Bose QC45 is lighter than comparable headphones, weighing 8.5 ounces and measuring 7.3 x 3 x 6 inches in size. The Sony WH-1000XM4 (8.9 ounces, 9.9 x 3 x 7.3 inches) and the AirPods Pro Max (13.6 ounces, 7.4 x 6.6 x 3.3 inches) are both heavier.
