What do we know thus far about the upcoming season?
Variety stated that a new series is in the works, but did not mention a probable release date, citing an unknown source as their source.
The magazine claims that casting for Season 6, which will feature more episodes than Season 5, which only had three, is ongoing, citing a source “close to the production.”
The new season is said to be “more cinematic,” with each episode being treated as a standalone film.

Why have we had to wait so long?
Black Mirror is a hugely popular show that is also quite unusual in its category. Charlie Brooker and Annabelle Jones, the creators of Black Mirror, left the production company that originally produced the series, House of Tomorrow, in 2020, leaving the series’ rights to Endemol Shine Group, which was eventually acquired by the Banijay group.
Brooker and Jones subsequently founded Broke & Bones, a production business in which Netflix quickly financed. The rights to produce additional Black Mirror, on the other hand, remained in Brooker and Jones’ hands for two years, leaving the series’ fate in uncertainty. The creative team eventually reached an agreement with the Banijay group to re-license the show to Netflix, paving the way for a Season 6.
Brooker suggested in 2020 that people might not need the darkness of Black Mirror in the midst of the epidemic, but there is no better moment than now.
