A beet raisin, which Baird compares to a “hurried rendition of a grown-up sticky bear.” Whatever it is, Lakshmi needs more. “Carrie’s plate of mixed greens is prepared flawlessly, and I will absolutely take this plan to raisin a beet ball!” she proclaims. Take that, Zepeda-Wilkins!
Talking about Zepeda-Wilkins, unfortunate Luck’s hampered with caramelizing the white chocolate for her pastry course. “It’s difficult to grasp where they’re going with Common Place. I get its significance, yet I don’t think they thoroughly considered these dishes as far as possible,” comments Luck, adding that he does not know what the chocolate is for, yet “the culinary expert said to make it, so I’m making it.” He’s only glad to cook.
After the two groups cross the end goal and feed 100 hungry visitors, the full-bellied judges resign to think.
“The hardest part about Claudette is watching her blame everything on others at whatever point she’s on the base,” thinks Baird who, coincidentally, is edging nearer to grabbing up the Top Chef title. She’s most of the way there!
Back at their dignified living quarters, the cooks anticipate their momentary future. Assuming there’s anything unsurprising about Top Chef, it’s this: When the pack lessens to eight, it’s fight or nothing.
