The global shortage of microchips is causing problems for both automotive manufacturers and their supply chains. General Motors is canceling production at the Lansing Grand River Assembly next week due to a temporary parts shortage, spokesman Dan Flores told Automotive News.

The company’s president, Florentino Flores said they had enough parts to last through next week but did not disclose the nature of their shortage.

There are rumors that it is related in some way to microchips and while this has not been confirmed by anyone at the management level I think we can safely assume there’ll be more news on Monday morning when employees come back into work after Christmas break 😉

The Ford F-150 is one of the most popular vehicles on America’s roads, and it turns out there are some people who like them so much they’ll buy any color. But when a shortage hit last month—caused by too many cars being made with old chips instead new ones–the company had no choice but to stop producing at their Kansas City assembly plant for seven days until things got back under control!
