Recently research on ancient Namibian stones was conducted by the University of St. Andrews in collaboration with the scientists of Havard University, Macquarie University, University of Australia, and Arhus University(Denmark). And they found out that ancient Namibian stone can be used for creating special types of Quantium computers.
They have found that a special form of light from ancient Namibian stone can make new light-based computers in near future.

The researchers have used naturally mined cuprous oxide gemstone from Namibia to produce Rydberg polaritons which is the largest hybrid particle of light and matter ever created.
Rydberg polaritons can easily switch between light and matter. As per the scientists, light and matter are two sides of Rydberg’s polaritons. And because of the matter side, Rydberg can easily interact with each other.
Moreover, the interactions between the two Rydberg are crucial. But it creates Quantum Stimulators. Quantum Stimulators are a special type of Quantum computer. Here Information is stored in Quantum Bits. Moreover, Quantum Bits are better than Classical binary bits because here you can add values between 0 and 1.
Therefore this factor helps Quantum computers to solve hardcore mysterious problems of physics, chemistry, and biology. It can also solve the issue of global hunger by calculating how to make cheaper fertilizer. Moreover, it can also calculate high-temperature superconductors for highspeed trains.
Dr. Hamid Ohadi, the project lead said that creating a Quantum Simulator is a new holy grail of science. They have taken a huge step towards Quantum Computers by making Rydberg Polaritons. And Rydberg Polaritons is the key ingredient of Quantum Computers.
Moreover, the researchers created Rydberg Polaritons with a lot of hard work. Firstly they trapped light between two reflecting mirrors. Then they thinned a Cuprous Oxide crystal Namibia stone and polished it to a 30-micrometer thick slab. And then they placed it in between the two mirrors. And that’s how they made Rydberg Polaritons.
