Ali Wong and Her Husband Justin Hakuta Have Ended Their Marriage After Eight Years.

After eight years of marriage, Ali Wong and her husband Justin Hakuta are divorcing. Jason Heyman, Wong’s agent, confirmed the divorce to USA TODAY. According to People and Entertainment Tonight, the pair met at a friend’s wedding reception in 2010 and married in 2014. Mari, 6, and Nikki, 4, are Wong and Hakuta’s kids.

Wong claimed she thought Hakuta, the son of game show host Ken Hakuta, was husband-material right away in her 2016 Netflix special “Baby Cobra.”

“The first thing I discovered about him was that he was a Harvard Business School student at the time.” “I was thinking, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to trap (him),'” Wong explained. “At first, I imprisoned (him) by not kissing him until the fifth date, which was a mistake.”

Wong has done two stand-up specials while pregnant during their eight-year marriage, so forgive me if I’m a touch too engaged in their love. They met at a wedding in 2010 when he was attending Harvard Business School, according to People. You may recall that when they met, she declared in her 2016 Netflix special, Baby Cobra, that she “knew he was a catch.” “I was thinking, Oh my God, I’m going to trap his ass,” she laughed.

In San Francisco, Wong and Hakuta married in 2014, and their first daughter, Mari, was born a year later, followed by Nikki in 2017. In her 2019 book, Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets, and Advice for Living Your Best, Wong discusses signing a prenuptial agreement.

In her Netflix special “Don Wong,” released earlier this year, Wong made fun of married life, saying she had “deep envy” for single people.

“You could just leave, move to another city, and never see their stupid face again if you’re romantically involved with someone and they suddenly reveal a personality trait that you don’t like,” Wong joked.

“Because you didn’t make a vow to your grandmother and all of your coworkers and beg your pals to purchase you an Instant Pot. You didn’t splice your DNA to make a human being who would always question, “Where’s Daddy?”

“It was kind of easier to get up from (failure) because I was taught it was a way of life and an important way of learning about yourself,” Wong said. “I had hit two parked vehicles, and usually some parents would flip out. My parents were like, ‘Well, now you know not to do a three-point turn on a narrow street.’ “
