On Tuesday, a group of Disney employees organized a nationwide walkout, demanding that the corporation do more to protect LGBTQ people and protesting that CEO Bob Chapek took too long to criticize a bill passed by the Florida state.
Those opposed to the measure were furious when the firm initially refused to take a public stance on it. Following its passing, Chapek spoke out against it at a shareholders meeting, announcing a halt on political donations in Florida and promising Disney will donate millions of dollars more to LGBTQ charities.
The CEO also stated that he and Disney would meet with DeSantis to convey their objection to the bill.

Disney must stop all campaign donations to politicians who voted for the “Don’t Say Gay” bill indefinitely, stop all investment in Florida until the bill is repealed, make “substantial contributions” to human rights advocacy groups, and expand the company’s LGBTQ content, according to the group’s demands.
