Coodie and Chike believe in the power of love. The audience has responded tremendously to their work jeen-yuhs: A Kanye West trilogy. According to them, the feedback is a testimony of the love of God.
According to Brando Yu, when he spoke to them over Zoom recently they were very open about their journey. The first two parts of the trilogy are released right now and the audience is just amazed. People love these two documentaries because of their raw quality. In the documentary, they have shown the young tragic Ye and his debut album The College Dropout. The tricky section of this trilogy is its Act III, for which Kanye’s fans are eagerly waiting. Coodie and Chike joined Kanye first in his “Through the Wire” music video where they directed the video. After that, they worked on so many projects together. Though they still are not afraid of how Act III will impact people. During the interview, Chike said, ” There’s no way you could take anything negative from this film, In my opinion.”
When Brando asked the pair if they think Kanye is changed right now. They replied that to them Kanye is still the same. He is still carrying the heartache of his mother’s death. They also told that if people see him through media they will think that his personality changed but for them, Kanye’s personality is still the same.
Brandon asked about Coodie’s statement about Ye’s problem with the documentary release as he didn’t want it to come out before The College dropout. According to Coodie, Ye was trying to create a superstar image but he still speaks his mind, he has learned this lesson from his father. So for him, the acting is more like a stage performance. Coodie also said that Ye has some mental health issues.
When Coodie and Chike were asked if they think things would be different for Kanye if his mother was still alive. Coodie responded by saying that we can only assume about it now. While Chike said that it’s just a perspective of life. According to him, this film is all about these moments that shape our life; we can still take these elements from our life to create something positive.
During the last phase of the interview, Brandon asked how much movie Ye has seen and if he has talked to Ye about it.
Coodie responded by saying that, he and Chike were downstairs when he came in. Ye sat next to his sister and he started laughing and said “Yo!”. So Ye’s response was good about the movie but Coodie belive Ye has not seen part two.
