This year, the front of the iPhone 14 – or at least the Pro variants – is quite likely to undergo a redesign. According to several reputable sources, Apple will replace the notch that debuted on the iPhone in 2017 with two cuts. It appears that the cuts will take up more area than initially anticipated.
Apple was expected to equip the iPhone 14 with a pill-shaped cutout for the front camera and infrared camera, as well as a circular hole for the dot projector. The last two are Facial ID face unlocking system components.

The leaked design reveals that the pill and hole cuts are not as slimline as previously imagined, and Apple appears to have simply eliminated the margins around the notch parts.
While no one expected the iPhone 14’s screen to be as tidy as that of the Samsung Galaxy S22 due to Apple’s need to make room for Face ID technology, the new design makes you wonder if there is any sense in ditching the notch.
