This year, the front of the iPhone 14 – or at least the Pro variants – is quite likely to undergo a redesign. According to several reputable sources, Apple will replace the notch that debuted on the iPhone in 2017 with two cuts. It appears that the cuts will take up more area than initially anticipated.
Apple was expected to equip the iPhone 14 with a pill-shaped cutout for the front camera and infrared camera, as well as a circular hole for the dot projector. The last two are Facial ID face unlocking system components.
The display of an iPhone 14 model is seen with the hole-punch and pill pattern at the top of the display in a picture submitted to Weibo and later validated as a genuine leak by leaker Jon Prosser.
For the alleged display, Prosser superimposed the image on top of the render, and the two don’t quite line up.

According to a fresh post on the Chinese social networking platform Weibo, the renderings based on those claims may have failed to represent the magnitude of the cuts. The leaked design reveals that the pill and hole cuts are not as slimline as previously imagined, and Apple appears to have simply eliminated the margins around the notch parts.
While no one expected the iPhone 14’s screen to be as tidy as that of the Samsung Galaxy S22 due to Apple’s need to make room for Face ID technology, the new design makes you wonder if there is any sense in ditching the notch.
Before you dismiss this as just another Weibo post, take in mind that tipster Jon Prosser has been informed by his sources that this design is genuine. Some customers may prefer the design over the notch, and it will take up less room than the notch in the end.

Apple’s forthcoming smartphone, the iPhone 14 Pro, is expected to have a larger hole-punch than previously imagined.
According to AppleInsider, a rumored new schematic of the iPhone 14 Pro shows that the hole-punch replacement of the notch may be significantly larger than previously anticipated for the iPhone 14 series.
According to rumors, Apple will ditch the controversial and much-copied notch in favor of hole-punch and pill-shape cuts at the top of the screen on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
While the design is intended to limit the amount of incursion into the display, a leak suggests it may not be as effective as planned, according to the study.
