It’s possible that Alan Mann Racing’s Ford GT40 race vehicle has always deserved to be honored, and it’s simply taken this long. The “AM GT-1,” as it was called, was an aluminum-bodied variant of the Mk I Ford GT40 developed and raced by Alan Mann Racing, a now-defunct British racing organization. The gold and white over red color scheme seen here is a homage to the team’s chosen colors, and it looks especially good on the present 2022 Ford GT.

2022 Ford GT the Elegant Styling and Modernized
The Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition is distinguished by its red paint with gold over-the-roof racing stripes, Frozen White accent stripes, and white roundels with the number 16 on either door. The car proudly displays its lightweight carbon fiber on the front splitter, side sills, rear diffuser, engine louvers, mirror covers, and, of course, the wheels. It’s even littered throughout the cabin; the door sills, console, and registers are all composed of it.
For those wanting to take their driving experience to the next level, the 2022 Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition will be available in 2020. This premium version of the GT will come with an exclusive paint job that’s only offered on this model as well as interior features like front seats that were made by hand in Italy and reclining rear seats designed specifically for sleepers.
Other little details, such as the black-with-red-graphics Brembo brake calipers and black lug nuts, are less visible. The gold appliqués on the instrument panel, door register bezels, and seat X-brace, as well as the gold and red seat accent stitching and the Alan Mann Red paddle shifters, are more difficult to overlook. Following this Heritage Edition, the Ford GT will be phased out by the end of this year. We’re still waiting for one more “send-off” Ford GT to rule them all, but time is running out.
