The budget carriers of America are about to get a lot bigger. In just five years, these low-cost airlines will create the country’s fifth-largest airline!
The deal will create the fifth-largest U.S airline by revenue passenger miles, with Frontier and Spirit combining to serve more than 150 destinations in 40 states from Denver or New York City airports alone!
The merger will create one of North America’s largest airlines, valued at more than $6 billion. The deal would leave Frontier with 51% controlling Spirit’s shares 48%.
Together, the two airlines offer more than 1,000 daily flights to over 145 destinations in 19 countries with their all-Airbus fleets.
The companies expect that the deal will allow them to add 10,000 direct jobs by 2026 without any layoffs.
When the airlines implement this new policy, they are expected to save consumers a whopping $1 billion every year.
“This is great news for travelers,” said Gary Cockshoot of the airline company Spirit. ‘We’re excited about being able to offer more low-fare flights and bringing this service right into neighborhoods that have been waiting a long time.'”
The merger is expected to close in the second half of this year with William A. Franke, chair of Frontier’s board, and CEO Chuck Robbins serving as lead director for his company’s Indra Sricthasec Company (ISVC).
The newly combined group will be called “Frontier-Indra” or just ‘FIC.’
The CEO of American Airlines has announced that they will be merging with competitor UAL (United), to create America’s most competitive ultra-low fare airline. The new company is expected to have lower fares than any other carrier in the market and provide passengers better service while also saving them money on their tickets!
This company is a powerhouse in the industry with total revenue expected to reach $5.3 billion by 2021, based on current trends and future projections for this year’s performance as well!
They have yet to make an announcement about the specifics of their new combined airline, like what its name might be or where it’ll fly from/to.
