The Nokia X71 as we speculated earlier is HMD Global’s entry device to hit the mid range market in 2019. The manufacturer has been phenomenal ever since the revival of the Nokia brand. Nokia phones have been very well balanced and have provided an overall pleasing experience to many users.
Recent leaks for the phone accompanied by a Chinese website revealed the sketching of the phone and the basic set of specifications of the device. Right off the first glance, we notice the fact that Nokia’s upcoming mid-ranger would house a punch hole design display to counter the notch. Definitely a credible move especially by 2019’s standards. The display is expected to feature a 6.4 inch 1080p+ IPS LCD panel with a single punch hole on the left-hand side of the phone.
The punch hole has gained exposure throughout the ending months of 2018 and is undoubtedly the next big trend of 2019 after the notch. As we uncovered earlier, the phone is to rock a Snapdragon 660 SoC with 6GB of RAM and 3500 mAh battery. As for the cameras of the device, the phone comes with a total of 3 cameras. One 8MP shooter at the front and two 48MP/5MP at the rear. Our speculations suggest that the phone would house a primary shooter with an additional depth sensor.
As for the geometry of the phone, the phone does seem to still house a fingerprint scanner at the back which is a good thing since the under display sensor on the Nokia 9 failed miserably. Moreover, the design itself is pretty standard with a rectangular slab curved from the edges and a flat front and back design. The main selling points of the device would be its inclusion in the Android One program and the cheapest punch hole display.
The future for HMD Global seems bright as they never cease to impress. The Nokia X71 is undoubtedly a killer and given the fact that these rumours are true then Xiaomi, Samsung and Huawei may be in some serious trouble.
