The Sony Xperia has been in the spotlight quite a lot recently with its front screen film leaked and the actual renders revealed. The phone is expected to make its way into the international markets later this year with a very absurd set of features. The Xperia XZ4 will house no notch and no sort of punch-hole camera with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 3 rear facing cameras. Overall the specifications seem very standard given how manufacturers like Samsung, Huawei and LG have been innovating their devices not to forget Xiaomi and Oppo with their budget solutions.
The leaked Antutu benchmarks reveal a total score of 395,721 points. Given how Android smartphones managed around the 300,000 marks seems very interesting. It is almost certain that the Xperia XZ4 will house a Snapdragon 855 SoC which will definitely be the standard for 2019 Android smartphones. What’s interesting here is the fact the benchmarks actually surpass the Kirin 980 by Huawei which had very similar architecture to the 855. Moreover, the benchmarks also surpass the latest iPhone XS in terms of the score by almost 50,000 points which is certainly an overwhelming number.

It is clear that Android smartphones are catching up to Apple’s invincible chipsets but it all comes down to optimization of the software phone is running. The fact that the XZ4 doesn’t really provide any sort of a neat feature which we may have not seen in any other smartphone is certainly puzzling but we never know what Sony has been cooking for all this time. The manufacturer definitely has a lot to catch up but let’s not lose hope in Xperia just yet.
