Pocophone F1’s Touch Latency Fixed With Update 8.10.11 MIUI 10

Xiaomi’s Pocophone F1 has long been under our radar for quite a while now. Ever since we recieved our Pocophone F1, we’ve complained to Xiaomi that the Pocophone F1 was suffering from touch latency issues. In fact, when they didn’t get back to us, we even ordered another replacement with a hope of skepticism that it may be a one-off bug or issue, but that wasn’t the case.

It was evident through a number of tests and cases that the issue with the Pocophone wasn’t the hardware, that’s for sure. In fact, for the past week or so, we’ve enabled the “Pointer Location” option found hidden beneath the Developer Options menu and found that the display was indeed picking up on touches with ease, but found that apps running in the device had conflicting issues with it.

Since then, we’ve been having quite some discussion with the folks over at Xiaomi and have come to the conclusion that they have finally fixed the issue via an OTA update released as MIUI 10 Global Beta update 8.10.11. To avoid conflicting issues, we decided perform a fresh install on our unit and found that the issue with the Pocophone F1 has been fixed entirely. It’s a complete relief and goes to show that Xiaomi has indeed been working on the issue for quite a while.

In an interview we published a while ago with a folks over at Xiaomi, we highlighted the issue with the Pocophone F1’s display. We asked them if they had taken notice of the issue or are yet to hear about it. They said:

Yes, we have created a page on Xiaomi MIUI official forum to constantly update the progress of resolving all those issues, including the ones you have mentioned. We are grateful for the feedback from our users and would like to apologize for any inconveniences caused. We will continue to improve our products along the way. – Xiaomi

It’s nice to see that the issue has been fix now. Do note though that users who are willing to find the recovery ROM for the Pocophone F1 would not be able to find update 8.10.11 on the MIUI forum, instead, users would have to make their way to XDA’s forums to get the recovery update.
