The Assassins Creed franchise has been running for a while now. The game when first arrived was a huge success since it offered amazing visuals beside high octane parkour and a historically accurate storyline. Some critics acclaimed that Ubisoft ruined the franchise by “Overdoing” a lot of things similar to what happened with the Call of Duty franchise.
However, it turns out that for the past few years Ubisoft has been keenly working for improvements and have spiced up their formula. When Assassin’s Creed Origins was released the game took a huge leap from hardcore parkour oriented title to a much intense RPG with a strong storyline.
This year’s Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was released just last week and Ubisoft has already claimed it to be a success. Placed in Ancient Greece, the game without a doubt looks stunning and with Ubisoft’s plans on a constant addition of new content will keep players entertained for a long period. The gameplay style has also shifted to a streamlined combat system and a very user-friendly style.
Furthermore, Ubisoft stated in their press release that this title has achieved a new milestone of first week sales in the history of the franchise. With a very strong critics rating, the future of Assassin’s Creed is looking bright.
At this Geoffroy Sardin, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing stated,
“We are incredibly proud of what the team accomplished with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and humbled by the amazing reception from critics and players. Based on the quality of the game and the very encouraging reactions from players, we expect Odyssey to be one of the top performing Assassin’s Creed games of all-time”
He then added
“Launch is just the start of this epic journey. We have robust content plans for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey that will keep players engaged and exploring the game’s beautiful and compelling world for a long time to come.”
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is available now on PC, PS4 and the Xbox family for purchase. It is certain that this title has caught the attention of many and what now matters is how Ubisoft plan on releasing the post-release content for the game. With the season pass accessing Legacy of the First Blade and The Fate of Atlantis, with three episodes each story missions and much more we should expect more great content from them.
