It has been more than a while since I called Xiaomi nuts. The company has been offering some of the best budget devices for the Asian and European market for more than a while now.
We had heard numerous rumors murmuring the internet suggesting that Xiaomi has a new phone called the Pocophone F1 behind the curtains. Today, the devices has become a reality and is simply about to kill of Xiaomi’s own series of devices.
Now, with the Pocophone F1, Xiaomi is putting a ton of trust into its enthusiastic community. Given how much Xiaomi and OnePlus have been increaisng their prices lately, it seemed like these flagship killers from Xiaomi and OnePlus were hitting the ceiling with their $499 price tags.
The Pocophone is powered by the beastly Snapdragon 845 SoC, upto 8GB RAM and a massive 4000mAh battery. The device is set to start at $299 only. The device is basically irresistible at this price point and an absolute OnePlus 6 killer cooled by a vapor chamber liquid cooling system.
However, it seems like this launch is more than just a package with killer specs. Xiaomi says that they’ve actually agressively tweaked their ROM, MIUI 10, for excellent performance. In a press release, Xiaomi said:
To fully unleash the performance beast, MIUI has been deeply customized on POCO F1 for a lighter, faster, and smoother experience.
Introducing a system optimization feature called “turbocharged engine”, POCO F1 delivers faster app startups, faster gaming performance, as well as a faster swiping experience due to enhancements in the screen response and animation frame rate.
This is a massive launch from Xiaomi and it seems like India isn’t the only market they’re targeting. Soon after their launch in India, Xiaomi is planning to release the phone in Indonesia, France and other regions as well.
POCO F1 is also available with polycarbonate backs in Graphite Black, Steel Blue, and Rosso Red. Regarding availability, the POCO F1 will retail at INR 20,999, INR 23,999, and INR 28,999 in India for the 6GB+64GB, 6GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB respectively.
In addition to those launches, there’s also an additional variant of the device called the POCO F1 Armored Edition. This device sports the highest spec sheet that built with military standard for those who need their phones the most in rugged situations.
