Xiaomi definitely has a ton of support with every launch. Their consumer-friendly pricing along with excellent reliability has boosted the confidence users have had for the company.
Recently, Xiaomi announced new Android One devices, the Xiaomi Mi A2 and the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite. Both devices feature some decent internals for a pretty good price tag. Now, while that’s good and all, it seems like Xiaomi’s making some exclusive steps for the Indian market recently. While this is their first time doing it, XDA reports that Indian variant of the Mi A2 may be the only device to support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 technology. Global variants of the device, for some reason, would be limited to Quick Charge 3.0 speeds.
If that’s the case, it would be weird to see Xiaomi making such moves considering that Xiaomi holds quite a huge market in other regions as well. Most techies that care about Xiaomi are wary of the spec sheet as well as these changes. This would be a really bummer move that definitely needs some explanation from Xiaomi’s side. Regarding the Mi A2 Lite, that device supports Quick Charge 3.0 only.
Following the Mi A2’s release in Europe, Xiaomi India has also announced the launch date for the Mi A2 in India. Expect the device to be released in India on August the 8th.
