How to get better at any type of Player Vs Player

Everyone likes being good at a game they like, but not all of us are as skilled as the other when it comes to PVP. Sometimes it could be the smallest things that you never even considered would impact your abilities. So, here are the 5 best tips for getting better at any type of Player Vs Player battle.

Learn your own skill set

I’ve been playing MMORPGs for a very long time now. More than half my life has been dedicated to endlessly grinding dungeons and arenas, but the thing that always makes me go “WHAT?” is when I learn about players who don’t know certain abilities that their class is capable of.

Often times it’s as simple as not knowing they have guard break, but there are rare occasions when it’s a very potent skill that they didn’t know about. Like the Force Blader’s self-buff skills in Cabal.

I can’t stress it enough that this should be the first thing you do when you get in a new MMORPG. Read all the skill descriptions!

Learn your enemy’s skill set

If you already know your skills, but you still can’t seem to win in PVP, then consider playing the classes that you have trouble dealing with. This helps you out in a couple of ways since you’re not only going to learn their actual attack and defense capabilities, you’re also going to learn the specifics which can be anything from skill cooldown, animation, weaknesses in the move and so on.

Practice makes perfect

You already know your skills and you already know the enemy class’s weakness, what now? Practice! Try it out and find ways to abuse the opponent’s weaknesses. If they’re weak to CCs and you have a lot of it, then abuse that and keep them permanently downed or find another way to defeat them.

You have as much freedom as your class allows. Explore it!

Ask tips from pros

Sometimes you’ve done all you can on your own, but it’s still not enough. That’s okay, we’re not all PVP geniuses like some of the top players around, but that doesn’t mean we can’t ask them for advice.

There are some very unfriendly ones, but there are just as much friendly pro players out there. Be courteous and ask them for tips on how to deal with classes that you have issues with or maybe even ask them for advice on how to build your character.

Equipment

While this isn’t going to save you if you’ve got no skills in PVP, it can still give you an edge if you’re playing competitively. High refresh rate and response rate monitors, better keyboards and gaming mice can all be bought on a budget.

Take your pick and consider what you need. FPS benefit a lot from high response monitors and mice, while MMORPGs benefit a lot from extra buttons on the mouse or macro implementation.

Good luck!
