Razer seems to be baking its first smartphone behind the curtains as we end 2017. As suggested by Geekbench leaks, the cult in the gaming world seems to be working on a high-end smartphone that would take on the big boys in the smartphone industry. After building an enthusiast brand over its excellent, sleek, stealthy and powerful notebooks, the company has finally decided to hit the road.
Recently, a mysterious phone from Razer, called the “Razer Phone” has snuck up through the nooks and crannies of GeekBench’s benchmark database that touts killer specifications keeping it in line with the smartphone industry. According to GeekBench, this new mysterious device from Razer packs a 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 display, a Snapdragon 835 SoC, 8GB of RAM accompanied by 64GB of internal storage. These are some beefy specifications from Razer. However, with the bezel-less trend booming the smartphone market with the Samsung Galaxy S8, Mi MiX 2 and other competition around, it could be possible that Razer could be opting for a 16:9 bezel-less display rather than opting for an 18:9 display like the competition to keep its cult alive.
This might be Razer’s first time entering the smartphone industry. However, that doesn’t mean Razer won’t be able to build a beautiful phone. Being a phone built by Razer, would shouldn’t be expecting a low price tag either. Most probably, Razer would also be adding their own skin on top of Android 7.1 Nougat along with a host of apps from Razer that would be integrated into the phone. Fingers-crossed, I want to see RGB on the phone. Period!
