Here’s What Konami Says About Maradona Suing Them

Diego Maradona is going to sue Konami for featuring him in PES 2017 without his permission. According to Diego Maradona himself, he’ll be taking legal action against Konami.

Here's What Konami Says About Maradona Suing Them

This is what Maradona wrote in a post on his official Facebook page:

“I heard yesterday that the Japanese company Konami uses my image for its game PES 2017. Unfortunately, my lawyer Matias Morla will initiate the corresponding legal actions. I hope this is not another scam.”

After the news spread out about Maradona suing Konami, many media outlets contacted Konami about the issue. In response to Diego Maradona, Konami told Kotaku that they featured Maradona in PES 2017 legally.

“At this time, there have been news that in Winning Eleven 2017 (international title: PES 2017 Pro Evolution Soccer) there is one player that is being used without permission; however, our company is using [this player] appropriately, with the basis of the license within the contract.”

If Maradona sticks to what he said earlier, he will be taking legal action against Konami. For more, keep it set on GeeksULTD.
