Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most anticipated upcoming games. Developed by Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to feature an open-world map set in the Wild West.
A Polish Distributor named “Media Markt” listed the Red Dead Redemption 2’s PS4 version on their website. According to Media Markt, the release date of the game was October 3, 2017.

Another Polish website called CD-Action contacted Media Markt about the confirmation of the release date. CD-Action was told that the release date has come directly from the distributor and the game is set to release on October 3, 2017.
“In reference to the question I would like to inform you that, pursuant to which our marketing department received from the distributor of the product, the release date is scheduled for October 3.”

After CD-Action published their article on the matter, Media Markt changed the release date of Red Dead Redemption 2 from October 3, 2017, to 31 December 2017. After some time, Media Markt’s PR Manager contacted CD-Action with another statement, denying the confirmation of the release date, stating that the October 3 release date was a mistake by an employee.
“We have no confirmed release date. We expect it this year, so it was changed at the end of the year. The October date was incorrectly entered by the person responsible for the product description. We apologize for the mistake.”
– Said Ms. Wioletta Batóg, PR at Media Markt, to CD-Action. [Translated from Polish]
What do you guys think? Is this just a cover-up by Media Markt or the release date was really a mistake? For now, all that is confirmed is that Red Dead Redemption 2 will release in autumn of this year on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
