Tekken 7 is going to be the ninth installment in Bandai Namco’s popular Tekken series. Tekken fans are desperately waiting for the new game to come but the developers have delayed the release of Tekken 7. The delay is not very drastic, but it is still a bad news for all the fans that are waiting for the release of the game. However, the wait is worth it, as it will give the developers more time to polish the game and make it a masterpiece.
Tekken 7 Officially Delayed, New Release Date Announced
In 2016, the developers of Tekken 7 said that the game will release in “early 2017” but it’s not releasing in early 2017 anymore. Tekken 7 will officially launch on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 2, 2017.
Talking to the gathered press at a recent event in Tokyo, Japan, Tekken 7’s director Katsuhiro Harada explained why the developers chose to delay the release of the game. He said:
“We were trying to do everything we could to make that date happen… maybe to scale down on the content in order to make the master release, but in the end we came to the decision that [after] seeing releases from other companies, as well as some of the past of our own, where maybe things weren’t working 100% at launch, or maybe it was missing some content, that’s the kind of thing we wanted to avoid with Tekken 7, so we made a very difficult decision of moving it to June to include all of the original content that we’d originally planned.” [Via IGN]
Katsuhiro Harada is actually pointing out to the rocky release of Street Fighter 5, which recently released. Tekken 7 will have an updated character roster with more than 30 characters. It will also have all the content from the already-released arcade title Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, plus some new game modes and other cool content.
