In the latest trailer of Kojima Production’s upcoming title ‘Death Stranding’, there’s a circular rainbow in the sky. Well, a Kojima fan from Argentina spotted a similar-looking rainbow and tweeted it to Hideo Kojima.

@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN Happened today in Rosario-Argentina. Suspended ice crystals in the sky made this. Truly amazing. #DeathStranding pic.twitter.com/6ha182u8n2

As you can see in the tweet by @sabelor10, the rainbow was spotted in Rosario, Argentina. It was caused by suspended ice crystals in the sky. This “circular-rainbow” phenomenon is actually called an Ice Halo. Ice crystals in the sky create this circular effect by reflecting and refracting light waves.
Here’s the trailer of Death Stranding which was revealed at The Game Awards:
Death Stranding is one of the most anticipated upcoming games. At the PlayStation Experience, Hideo Kojima revealed that the game will be powered by Decima Engine.

I’ve seen something very similar in Nigeria, except it was at night and around the moon, or if i remember correctly it looked like clouds formed a perfect circle round the moon.
Yes, this phenomenon is possible on moon too. Sun or moon just acts as a light source and the ice crystals in the air reflect that light for that circle effect.
For sure. I’ve always called it the “halo” effect…
I’ve never seen this before and I didn’t know this was possible!
