Ubisoft is about to launch Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands next year. Along with the launch of Ghost Recon Wildlands, the company is also about to launch the next installment into the Watch Dog series. Both of these games are very well known and are loved by their fans, but it seems like Ubisoft is expecting Watch Dogs 2 to sell more, which is due to release this year on November 16, 2016.
Ubisoft’s Yves expressed his belief and feedback he has received. He explained the recognition and the how the press appreciated their next Ghost Recon game by receiving positive comments and feedback. He also believes that such an idea of bringing an “Open-World Shooter” to the gaming market could be a revolution for the gaming industry. The game was first shown off at E3 2015 with an update shown off at E3 2016, there’s still some more time to wait until the Q1, 2017.
However, Mr. Alain Martinez added a few more insights about the expectations they’ve set for both of their upcoming titles. He stated:
“I would say that if you look at the colour of our line-up, very clearly we do believe that Watch Dogs is our number one title for this year,” added CFO Alain Martinez. “So if we compare to what we delivered last year it’s in the high side. And if you look at Ghost Recon, I would say it will be closer to a Rainbow Six, more or less, so I would today rank it a bit lower than Watch Dogs but we will see what happens.” (via)
However, up to an extent, it makes sense about what Mr, Alain Martinez says here since Watch Dogs will be releasing earlier than Ghost Recon Wildlands. Moreover, as we mentioned earlier, Ubisoft is expecting Watch Dogs 2 to sell as much, or more than the original Watch Dogs game, which sold over 10M. Ubisoft have also reported that 85% of Watch Dogs players are looking to get Watch Dogs 2.
